<p><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-137704" alt="BBM-Android-iOS" src="http://www.duniaku.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/BBM-Android-iOS-640x360.jpg" width="640" height="360" /></p><p>BlackBerry merilis aplikasi chatting andalannya, BlackBerry Messenger alias BBM untuk platform iOS dan Android akhir Oktober 2013 lalu. Awalnya memang tidak sebanding dengan BBM yang asli di smartphone BlackBerry, namun perusahaan yang dulunya dikenal sebagai RIM tersebut terus meng-upgrade aplikasi tersebut dengan fitur baru. Seperti opsi untuk mengkategorikan kontak yang mereka buka pertengahan November 2013 lalu, kemudian akhir Desember 2013 kami mendapatkan kabar lain, bahwa BBM Channel yang menjadi fitur terbaru BBM di smartphone BlackBerry juga akan diberikan untuk BBM iOS serta Android, lengkap dengan opsi komunikasi Voice Chat. Dan sekarang kabar terakhir mengenai aplikasi tersebut, BlackBerry sedang berusaha meluaskan cakupan smartphone yang bisa menjalankan aplikasi mereka tersebut.</p><p><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-137705" alt="BlackBerry-Channel" src="http://www.duniaku.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/BlackBerry-Channel-640x360.jpg" width="640" height="360" /></p><p>Walaupun chatting menggunakan BBM tidak senikmat di perangkat BlackBerry yang asli, namun demand user untuk bisa mendapatkan PIN mereka sendiri di iOS dan Android sangat besar. Aplikasi BBM ini diunduh lebih dari 10 juta kalidi iOS dan Android hanya dalam sehari pasca peluncurannya, dan terus membengkak hingga 40 juta kali hingga akhir tahun 2013. BlackBerry tentu ingin terus jumlah itu bertambah, dan mereka sudah ancang-ancang menambah fitur BBM Channel serta Voice, plus kini muncul kabar jika BlackBerry sedang menyiapkan aplikasi khusus untuk mereka yang masih bertahan menggunakan Android 2.3 Gingerbread, yang sampai saat ini belum mendapatkan kesempatan bisa merasakan BBM secara resmi (karena ada file aplikasi BBM modifikasi yang memang disediakan untuk Gingerbread).</p><p>Data terakhir yang diberikan Google melalui website merekamenyebutkan jikaAndroid 2.3masih digunakan oleh lebih dari 20% dari keseluruhan pengguna Android di seluruh dunia. Itu berarti masih adsa puluhan juta pengguna dengan Gingerbread yang bisa dijaring oleh BlackBerry. BlackBerry sendiri mengungkapkan mereka menerima banyak permintaan untuk membuat aplikasi tersebut kompatibel dengan Android versi lama. Mereka mendengarnya, dan kini sudah menyiapkan BBM khusus untuk pengguna Gingerbread.</p><p>Sayangnya BlackBerry tidak memberikan tanggal pasti kapan layanan messaging mereka ini bisa dinikmati pengguna Gingerbread. Salah satunya yang menurut kami menarik adalah <em>picture passwod</em>yang memberimu opsi membuka cepat smartphone menggunakan kombinasi gambar dan angka (0-9) pilihan kita, yang kamu posisikan di bagian tertentu pada gambar tersebut. Untuk membuka kunci smartphone ini kini lebih keren (atau bisa juga dikatakan ribet), gambar akan muncul bersama deretan angka random.
