Koji Igarashi, nama yg pasti dikenal oleh para penggemar serial Castlevania, & juga pria dibalik salah satu game tersuksesnya, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, baru saja mengkonfirmasikan & juga meluncurkan kampanye Kickstarter untuk Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, sebuah game action sidescrolling yg bakal mengingatkan pada gameplay 2.5D-nya Symphony of the Night, untuk platform PlayStation 4, Xbox One, dsan PC.

Meskipun namanya bukan Castlevania, namun Bloodstained banyak membawa elemen permainan yg membuat Symphony of the Night disukai. Mulai fokusnya pada eksplorasi level dengan tampilan 2 dimensi dari samping, sesekali berubah jadi 2.5D, / karakter juga bisa berpindah dengan bergerak menjauhi / ke arah layar, platformer side-scrolling, elemen RPG yg kental & juga ada fitur crafting (ketika mengalahkan musuh, kalian mendapatkan material / itam langka, yg kemudian menggunakan alkimia bisa diubah menjadi kemampian sihir & senjata yg lebih kuat).
Koji Igarashi sendiri yg memimpin proses pengembangannya, & sepertinya tidak terpisahkan ya, composer musiknya tidak lain Michiru Yamane. Oh ya, nama yg juga terangkat setahunan ini berkat sukses Kidkstarter-nya, developer Inti Creates, yg familiar melalui Mighty No. 9 & Azure Striker Gunvolt, bereada di balik tim pengembangan game ini.
Untuk kampanye pendanaan Kickstarter kali ini, Igarashi mencari pendanaan hingga US $500,000. Selain nantinya para backer mendapat kopian dalam format digital, mereka juga menerima kopian fisik yg disebut Special Backer Edition, berisi bonus konten berupa swordwhip (senjata karakter dalam game), boss rahasia, & juga kotak slipcase khusus untuk para backer Kickstarter.

Apa yg menarik, Igarashi meminta dukungan US $500,000 untuk proyeknya ini, namun beberapa jam setelah dibuka sudah ada separuh yg berkontribusi, & saat ini sudah melebihi targetnya, / tidak sampai 24 jam setelah dibuka, sudah melebihi target, kini mencapai US $999,737! Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night memang langsung mengingatkan kami pada Castlevania, apalagi tampilan 2.5D-nya itu, yg banyak disebut-sebut sebagai Igavania. Kalian mengendalikan seorang wanita bernama Miriam, dengan cerita yg melibatkan seorang ahli alkimia & setan, serta berbagai hal yg tidak masuk akal seperti yg biasa ditemui dalam sebuah Castlevania. Inti ceritanya sendiri menyebutkan jika Miriam dipungut sebagai anak yatim piatu oleh seorang alchemist saat dia masih kecil, serta obyek untuk menempatkan kutukan ilmu alkimia gelap. Akibat percobaan tersebut, Miriam tertidur selama satu decade sementara kutukan it uterus berkembang dalam dirinya, & ketika dia terbangun, dia sudah mendapati jika setan telah memasuki dunia.
Selain Miriam, ada dua karakter lainnya yg menjadi bagian cerita, yaitu Gebel, musuh utamanya, & Johannes, yg disebutkan sebagai karakter pendukung. Tidak seperti Miriam, yg masih berusia 18 tahun, baik Gebel dsan Johannes lebih tua pada usia 30. Berikut profil mereka seperti yg disebutkan dalam halaman Kickstarter-nya:
Main Character:Miriam (age 18)
Picked up as an orphan by an Alchemist at a young age, she became a host for the dark Alchemists curse. Although the magicrystals were fused with her body at a young age, for 10 years she lay sleeping while the curse matured to its full form. It was during this period that the demons arrived, meaning that she missed their appearance and awoke with a mild form of amnesia, not quite fully understanding what happened to her.
She is a woman of few words but strong of purpose. Her youth is deceiving, making her seem confrontational and quick to judge, though in reality she is constantly evaluating her next step. The pain she felt as an orphaned child fuels her compassionate desire to protect her loved ones and friends.
Antagonist Character: Gebel (age 30)
Original host for the magi-crystal curse that summons demons to the planet. He was the only one to survive its effects at such a high level. He destroyed the guild that created him, but in doing so realized he was no longer human and had no place on Earth. This in turn, lead him to summon the demon castle from hell to appear on the planet.
It is said that his real purpose in summoning the castle was to give Miriam a place of her own, but as his Magicrystal disease progressed, he soon forgot his own reasoning. The more he surrounded himself with hellspawn, the quicker the magicrystals engulfed his body. He continues to plot the downfall of man, and how to best convince (or use) Miriam to achieve his dark ambition.
Support Character: Johannes (age 30)
A member of the defunct Alchemist guild and Gebels best friend. The only Alchemist who dissented with the plan to call demons to the earth to cement Alchemy as the prevalent philosophy. His rejection of the other Alchemists scheme is what kept him from sharing their fate. He has a vague understanding that Miriams awakening and the demon castles appearance are no mere coincidence.
He is a caring, optimistic, and emotional individual, making him ill-suited for the work of an alchemist. However, his alchemic knowledge is the one thing keeping the magi-crystal curse from consuming Miriam entirely. He continues his devout study in hopes of stopping Gebel and avoiding the mistakes of the Alchemists before him.
