Kasihan sekali Ubisoft. Sudah satu bulan sejak pertama kali Assassin’s Creed Unity dirilis, mereka masih saja berkutat untuk memperbaiki bug demi bug yg sangat banyak (baca: Kumpulan Glitch Kocak Assassin’s Creed Unity yg Bikin Ngakak). Belum lagi harus menghadapi gamer yg “ngamuk” karena tidak sabar menunggu Ubisoft menjawab keluhan mereka & memberikan solusi atas masalah yg mereka hadapi (baca: Gara-gara Assassins Creed Unity Banyak Masalah, Gamer PC Ngamuk (Lagi) ke Ubisoft!). Entah karena saking banyaknya bug & masalah yg harus diselesaikan, Ubisoft pun memberikan pernyataan yg mungkin terdengar aneh: mereka menunda rilis patch major yg sudah dijanjikan untuk Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Menunda rilis game mungkin sudah biasa bagi Ubisoft. Menunda rilis patch? Mungkin sebuah hal yg jarang sekali terjadi…
Sedianya, Ubisoft menargetkan tanggal 15 Desember 2014 kemarin sebagai jadwal rilis patch keempat dari game ini. Patch ini rencananya akan memperbaiki banyak masalah yg melanda gamer, mulai dari stabilitas saat online hingga bug & glitch lain yg seringkali muncul. Namun rupanya, perilisan patch ini harus ditunda beberapa hari karena Ubisoft masih belum bisa memenuhi solusi yg dijanjikan tersebut. Berikut ini adalah bunyi dari pernyataan resmi mereka.
“Rigorous quality control is of paramount importance to us, and your feedback over these past weeks has indicated that it is important to you as well, As stated last week, we’d expected to release the patch today (and we know that many are anticipating its release), but we are choosing to hold off until we can give you the improvements we’ve promised.”
Yang membuat pernyataan ini semakin menarik, rupanya Ubisoft juga menjanjikan peningkatan performa yg sangat signifikan. Untuk itu mereka bahkan juga membuat ulang peta Paris yg disebut membutuhkan lebih banyak waktu. Wow!
Sayangnya, berita penundaan ini bukannya membuat penggemar Assassin’s Creed bersimpati / bersabar, melainkan membuat mereka lebih murka lagi dibandingkan sebelumnya! Belum lagi, mereka sudah menagih janji-janji lain dari Ubisoft, seperti kompensasi game gratis bagi yg sudah membeli Season Pass-nya (baca: Ubisoft Meminta Maaf, Berikan Game Gratis Untuk Gamer yg Kecewa dengan AC Unity).

UPDATE (17 Desember 2014): Penundaan ini hanya satu hari saja, dimana pagi ini Ubisoft mengkonfirmasikan perilisan patch baru berukuran super besar, 6.7 GB untuk memperbaiki masalah-masalah yg masih muncul. Patch ini sudah tersedia untuk pemilik PS4 & Xbox One. Sedangkan untuk pemilik PC, patch baru tersedia akhir minggu ini. Berikut ini adalah patch note yg dirilis oleh Ubisoft.
