Pihak studio mengatakan bahwa ini adalah langkah yang harus diambil supaya mereka mempunyai waktu untuk berpikir dan mengambil keputusan yang tepat tentang bagaimana nasibfranchise ini selanjutnya.</p><p>Berikut pernyataan resmi dari pihakUniversal Pictures:</p><p>“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support toPaul’s immediate family and our extended<em>Fast & Furious</em>family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on<em>Fast & Furious 7</em>for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping<em>Fast & Furious</em>fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friendPaul Walker.”</p><p>Ditempat lain, pimpinanUniversal Pictures,Donna Langley, mengatakan bahwa hasil dari penjualan Blu-ray dan DVD dari<em>Fast & Furious 6</em> akan disumbangkan semua ke yayasanReach Out WorldWide yang didirikan oleh Paul Walker. Yayasan non-profit tersebut merupakan organisasi yang ia dirikan untuk membantu korban bencana alam.Walkermendirikan organisasi ini karena melihat kurangnya respon aktivis lokal saat gempa bumi yang mengguncangHaiti terjadi pada Januari 2010 silam, dan setelah itu Walker terus bersemangat untuk mendedikasikan dirinya dalam kegiatan amal.</p><p>“With the passing ofPaul, the world has lost a man who spent a great deal of his life in service to others.
